There is an aptitude test called the NEAS. You can find more information about this test by visiting the Junior Engineering Technical Society .

  Questions & Answers

It is our hope that this page provides useful information to assist you with your vocational goals related to engineering and the engineering profession.

Do I need to attend an accredited college or university?

The college or university should be accredited by one or more of the national accreditation organizations. In addition you should look for ABET accreditation as well. ABET determines whether an engineering program meets quality standards for courses, faculty and facilities.

Where can I find an accredited college or university that has a program that I am interested in?

You will find this to be a very valuable source of information. You can specify an engineering discipline, aerospace for example, a region of the United States or a state. A list of colleges and universities that meet your criteria will be displayed. Please note that these schools are NOT ranked rather they are listed if they meet the ABET criteria.

I still have questions about aerospace engineering. Where can I find some answers?

Go to the AIAA website and click on “Students & Engineers” and then “Ask an Engineer.” You can also contact one of the AIAA members that lives in your area. Again you can go to the AIAA website and find the location and addresses of various AIAA Branches in the United States.
