Electrathon Racing |
|
2009-10 The 2009-10 school year will bring new challenges and a full slate of racing activities for the MAcubed AIAA Student Branch. There will be Electrathon races held at Brandon H.S. in December, Middleton will host a road course race on January 16th, USF (during the Engineering EXPO), the Battery Beach Burnout in Jupiter also in February, and back to Pensacola in April for another go at the Emerald Coast Classic. Also in the works are races to be held at Tampa Bay Technical H.S., and possibly a race at C.Leon King H.S. To top it off, the AIAA Student Branch in conjunction with the Advanced Applications in Technology classes are developing another car, for the 2010 season which will sport the number 010-FL. This car is fresh off the drawing board and in the initial build stages as of the 30th of November. It is going to be light and FAST. |

Members of the AIAA Student Branch of Middleton High School’s Academy of Aeronautics & Astronautics with their first Electrathon Race Car entry. The car competed in races held in Pensacola, and Tampa during the 2008-09 school year/racing season, finishing 6th out of 10 in both races. |

Ready for the second heat at the Emerald Coast Classic Electrathon 120 in Pensacola at the Five Flags Speedway.
Jess put the “hammer” down, going 43 mph for 30 minutes. This put all cars 1-3 laps down, BUT we used up too much power and they all got their laps back. 034 was still running at the end—it was slow, but still running. |
